Calcium Hydroxine Paste for Endodontics

The sucess of the apical closure depends on the tissue compatibility with paste used.

Several dental work has been demonstrating the high successful levels in using calcium hydroxide as calcified tissue inductor. Calen is a calcium hydroxide paste, enriched with some substances that allow its use in Endodontic for apical closure, without interfering the liberation of (Ca).

Clinical Cases

Biopulpectomy
... It is necessary to use the calcium hydroxide paste as a "delay curative" between clinical section with substances that preserve the pulp vitality.

Radiograph of 11. Filling of a root canal with apical application with a plug of Calen Calcium Hydroxide paste.

Histological cutting, showing mineralized barrier, isolating the filling material from the living cote, free of inflammatory cellules
( case accomplished in human being).

Necropulpectomy
... the topic application is recommended as "delay curative" between clinical session, in the treatment of pulpless and infected root canals, specially in cases of chronic periapical reaction.

Radiograph of an inferior left incisive with chronic periapical lesion.

Radiograph of calen application,
with intentional overflowing.

Radiograph 1 ( one ) year follow-up examination .

Incomplete root formation
"The best option in endodontic treatment of teeth with incomplete root formation, is to stimulate the ongoing root development with medicaments.".

Radiograph revealing a significant periapical lesion and the gutta percha cones.

Radiograph after one year of treament with Calen. Observe the periapical repair and "splendid" calcification of the root canal.

Follow-up after 5 years.

Month cavity, revealing the presence of fistulas (observe the gutta percha cones attached to them) on the first inferior premolar.
